India Health Initiative
IMRC’s First India Health Initiative
Prompted by several doctors in conjunction with a long time vision of both Br. Manzoor and Dr. Rosenberg, IMRC has organized the India Health Initiative. The objective is to bring together a team of medical staffs to travel to the rural areas of India, such as Bara Banki, UP, and Coastal Andhra to provide desperately needed health care to the local destitute Muslims and minorities; to provide basic education in health care with an emphasis on preventive health care; and to provide technical training to the local doctors and medical personnel.
We are on schedule for our first trip to India in January 2010. The length of the medical trip is approximately 3 weeks including travel time. The goal is to see 2000 patients in two weeks. We are fortunate to have 5 doctors and 2 assistants on our first trip. However, we still need medical equipment, medical supplies, and pharmaceutical goods. Where possible, we plan to collaborate with local non-profit organizations, physicians, medical staffs, clinics and hospitals. We appeal to all medical professionals; please consider joining us in this worthy cause. Send us your e-mail address, and we will keep you abreast of our future medical excursions.
Medical Needs for the Poor
We appeal to all our donors to remember the poor who needs medical attention. Donate your Zakat & Sadaqah today. It will be put to good use in India with our Health Initiative.
Double you Donation with Employer Match
We want to thank everyone who donated through IMRC. May we remind our donors to check for and process matching donations by your employer. With matching donations, your money goes twice as far, and the number of beneficiaries can double.
Stock Donations
How about your stocks which has seen a nice run since the market bottomed in March, 2009. It is very easy to donate stocks. Simply inform your broker dealer your intention and instruct them to deliver the stocks to IMRC account. Contact us at (650) 856-0440 for specifics.
Wishing everyone a Happy Holiday and may the year 2010 bring us all renew spirit, prosperity, good health, and increased Imaan.
